Taking Magic Damage

Magic attacks like fire will still deal some damage even if you guard.

Taking damage from the same element repeatedly will make you vulnerable to that element, temporarily allowing subsequent attacks of the same type to deal even greater damage.

Status Ailments

Continuous hits with certain attacks will inflict status ailments such as elemental vulnerability, paralysis, curse and poison. For more information, see the relevant entry in the tips section.
